2010年代のLos Angelesのインディーシーンを代表するアーティストのひとりとして10年近く活動をしてきたWinterはキャッチーで甘酸っぱいインディーポップから水に溶けこむようなドリームポップを鳴らしてきた。

2022年にリリースされた『What Kind of Blue Are You?』ではこれまで以上にシューゲイズからの影響を感じ取れるサウンドへと展開され、コレを期に様々なシューゲイズ・アーティストが活躍するNew Yorkへと移り住んだSamiraは2024年にリリースした『…and she’s still listening』や〈Julia’s War〉のThey Are Gutting a Body of WaterによるRemixやHookyとのコラボEP『Water Season』のリリースにより着々とイーストコーストの実験的なシューゲイズ・シーンでも存在感を放つ。

満を持して2025年夏にリリースされた最新アルバム『Adult Romantix』では彼女が元々培ってきたキャッチーな部分とイーストコーストらしいシューゲイズサウンドが完璧にミックスされ、僕たちインディーファンが信用しかしていないアメリカのミュージックブログ、〈Stereogum〉の〈Best Shoegaze Album〉に選出されるなど、2025年シューゲイズ・ファンが聞き逃してはならない1枚に。

アルバムにはHorse Jumper of LoveやTanukichanが参加し、他にもHatchie、SASAMI、RIP Swirl、Day Waveといった数多くのアーティストとコラボレーションするなど、アーティストからの信頼も厚いWinterはアメリカのシーンを感じたいあなたは見逃せないでしょう！

2018年には〈P-VINE〉から2ndアルバム『Ethereality』をリリースし、日本デビューを果たしたWinter。それから8年彼女の夢でもあった初の来日ツアーに是非お越しください！

She released her 4th album, “What Kind of Blue Are You?” in 2022, and its sound has evolved to reflect an influence from shoegaze rather than her past discographies. After she released that album, she also moved to New York, which has a thriving community of shoegaze artists. Since then, she has been collaborating more with indie/shoegaze artists such as They Are Gutting a Body of Water, Horse Jumper of Love, Hooky, Hatchie, Tanukichan, SASAMI, RIP Swirl, and Day Wave.

She released her latest album, “Adult Romantix,” this summer. It perfectly blends the catchy sensibility she has cultivated over the years with a distinctly shoegaze sound. “Adult Romantix” was selected as one of the Best Shoegaze Albums in 2025 by Stereogum. It’s an essential listen for shoegaze / indie fans in 2025.

She has been dreaming of coming to Japan to play shows since she released her sophomore album, “Ethereality,” through Japanese label, P-VINE in 2018.
