この度、UKより「マークフェル」、「ライアントレーナー」という素晴らしい電子音楽アーティスト2名を京都に招聘します。
SNDやSensate Focusなどのプロジェクトで知られ、クラブミュージック指向のリズムをミニマルでありながら、同時に異能の構造へと変容させるマークフェル。

Planet Mu、Nyege Nyege Tapes、The Death of Raveなどからのリリース、そして近年ではCara TolmieとのコラボレーションやGRM委嘱作品も手掛け、クラブカルチャーと実験的なサウンドデザインの間を闊歩するライアントレーナー。

「電子音楽」という言葉から想起されるものの中で確かなクオリティをもつ作品を発表し続けてきたことは勿論、同時に近年ではそのイメージ、範疇をより電子音楽の外側へと拡張させる活動を行う二人のアーティストの日本ツアー京都編として、京都・UrBANGUILDで彼らの最新型のパフォーマンスが観れます。

また京都編においては、特別にRIAN TREANOR + Rai Tateishi（立石雷）による特別なコラボレーションライブが行われます。

篠笛を基盤に多様な管楽器を演奏し、伝統的手法にエレクトロニクスを融合させた独自の音楽表現が海外の実験音楽フェスティバルで高く評価されている立石雷とライアントレーナーの初めてのコラボレーションとなります。

クラブミュージック～電子音楽～実験音楽の最前線とも言える領域が此処では展開され、またそれは単なる「実験」にとどまらない、音楽の鋭く、芳醇な側面を提唱するものになると予感しています。是非11月29日は3組のパフォーマンスを京都・UrBANGUILDで体験してください。

We are organising the Kyoto performance of Mark Fell and Rian Trainer’s Japan tour!
We have invited two truly outstanding electronic music artists from the UK.
Mark Fell, known for projects such as SND and Sensate Focus, who transforms club-oriented rhythms into minimal yet simultaneously extraordinary structures.

Rian Trainer, who releases on labels including Planet Mu, Nyege Nyege Tapes, and The Death of Rave, and in recent years has collaborated with Cara Tolmie and undertaken commissions for the GRM, striding confidently between club culture and experimental sound design.
Beyond consistently delivering work of assured quality within the realm evoked by the term “electronic music”, both artists have recently expanded that very image and category beyond electronic music itself.

Their latest performances can be seen in Kyoto at UrBANGUILD as part of their Japan tour.
Furthermore, the Kyoto performance will feature a special collaborative live set by RIAN TREANOR + Rai Tateishi. This marks the first collaboration between Rai Tateishi—whose unique musical expression, blending traditional techniques with electronics and centred around the shinobue flute alongside diverse wind instruments, has garnered high acclaim at international experimental music festivals—and Rian Treanor.

Here, the cutting edge of club music, electronic music, and experimental music unfolds.

We anticipate this will not merely be an “experiment”, but will present a sharp and exceptional facet of music.

▼Mark Fell:

Mark Fell is a pioneering electronic music artist known for transforming club-driven rhythms into both minimal and unusual structures.

From his influential duo SND to acclaimed solo releases and his Sensate Focus project, Fell bends techno, house and algorithmic processes into radically forward-thinking music.

His work appears at major festivals, galleries and institutions worldwide.

Fell is not just shaping electronic music—he’s redefining how we think about rhythm, structure and the technology of sound.

▼Rian Treanor：

British artist Rian Treanor’s music is complex yet highly kinetic, reflecting equal interest in club culture and experimental sound design.

He has released records on Planet Mu, Nyege Nyege Tapes, The Death of Rave and Warp sub-label Arcola.

Over the last decade, Treanor has developed a multifaceted practice encompassing collaborations, workshops, live performances, and sound installations.

His recent work includes the 2025 LP Body Lapse with vocalist Cara Tolmie, a GRM commission Crashing Into Bleaklow with Mark Fell, residencies with Ocen James and Catu Diosis through Nyege Nyege, and DJ sets at Björk’s Full Moon series in Smekkleysa, Iceland.

▼RAI TATEISHI（立石 雷）:

笛奏者。篠笛を基盤に多様な管楽器を演奏し、風土や身体感覚に根ざした音のあり方を探っている。
太鼓芸能集団「鼓童」では国内外での公演を経験。退団後は振付師Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui、歌舞伎役者人間国宝・坂東玉三郎、市川團十郎、Phew、山本精一といった表現者との共演を重ねる一方、リズムアンサンブルgoat(jp)、多民族芸能楽団わたら、ANTIBODIES Collective、青森・八太郎えんぶり組など、伝統と実験の交錯する現場に身を置いてきた。
現在は滋賀県高島市の山間に暮らし、自然とともにある生活と制作を続けている。
近年では、伝統的手法にエレクトロニクスを融合させた独自の音楽表現を展開し、goatやYPYなどで知られる日野浩志郎のプロデュースのもと、デビューアルバム『Presence』をレーベル「NAKID」よりリリース。MODE 2025、Unsound Oska出演。存在の「いま・ここ」を可視化／可聴化する音の軌跡は、聴き手を沈黙と生成のあいだに連れ出す。

▼中川裕貴 Yuki Nakagawa :

関西を拠点に活動する音楽家／演奏家。チェロを独学で学び、そこから独自の作曲、演奏活動を行う。
人間の「声」に最も近いとも言われる「チェロ」という楽器を使用しながら、同時にチェロを打楽器のように使用する特殊奏法や自作の弓を使用した演奏を音楽の様々なシーンや音楽以外の芸術ジャンルの中で展開している。
2022年よりgoat、YPYでも活動する音楽家・日野浩志郎とのDUOプロジェクト「KAKUHAN」をスタートさせ、以降、同ユニットではRewire、Unsound、Moers Festival、Intonal、Outfestなどヨーロッパの主要な実験音楽フェスティバルに参加している。
2025年には初となるソロアルバムをリリース予定。令和6年度京都市芸術文化特別奨励者。
