由良部正美
1982年、舞踏グループ東方夜総会を退会後、ソロダンサー、振付け・演出家として活動を始める。たくさんのダンス作品、コラボレーション作品を発表。 2000年ヨーロッパ最大といわれるリヨン・ビエンナーレ・ダンスフェスティバルのオープニングに招待されたのはじめ、メルボルン・ダンスフェスティバル（2002年）、韓国のテジュンとテグでのダンスフェスティバル（2005年）、ポルトガルのSUL-Xダンスフェスティバル（2006年）等海外での招待公演も数多い。 又、又舞踏の黎明期を築いてきた笠井叡氏、大野慶人氏を2005年、2006年と招き、ワークショップ・トークセッション・パフォーマンスが一体となった「身体の裏側Ⅰ」「身体の裏側Ⅱ」を企画。古典の新芽シリーズでの文楽・義太夫との共演等その活動は幅広い。又長年舞踏クラスやワークショップを行いながら、他の身体技法や身体観との相対化の中で、新たな舞踏の血脈を辿っている。　 2008年7月から、京都の西陣にて、自身の稽古場件フリースペース、スペースＡＬＳ−Ｄを始動。 2017年から2019年に京都舞踏館にて舞踏作品「黄泉の花」を300回を超えて上演。 2020年からフランスのピアニストのThierry Ravassard 氏とのコラボ作品でヨーロッパ各地で公演を続けている。又新しい作品、「Joker」「息のゆきさき」で、舞踏の概念を拡げるような作品にも挑戦している。

Masami Yurabe Profile
After leaving the Butoh group Tohoya Soukai in 1982, he began working as a solo dancer, choreographer and director. He has presented many dance pieces and collaborative works. He was invited to the opening of the Lyon Biennale Dance Festival, the largest in Europe, in 2000, and has been invited to perform many times overseas, including the Melbourne Dance Festival (2002), the Daejun and Daegu Dance Festivals in Korea (2005), and the SUL-X Dance Festival in Portugal (2006). He also invited Akira Kasai and Yoshito Ohno, who were pioneers of the Butoh movement, in 2005 and 2006, and planned “The Other Side of the Body I” and “The Other Side of the Body II,” which combined workshops, talk sessions and performances. His wide-ranging activities include performing with Bunraku and Gidayu in the Classical Buds series. He has also been conducting butoh classes and workshops for many years, tracing new butoh lineages through comparison with other physical techniques and views of the body. In July 2008, he started his own practice space and free space, Space ALS-D, in Nishijin, Kyoto. From 2017 to 2019, he performed his butoh work “Yomi no Hana” over 300 times at the Kyoto Butohkan. Since 2020, he has been performing collaborative works ” l’eau et les rêves” with French pianist Thierry Ravassard in various parts of Europe. He is also challenging himself with new works that expand the concept of butoh, “Joker” and “Iki no Yukisaki”.etc

2013年より舞踏家 · 由良部正美氏の踊りに衝撃を受け師事。その後スペースALS-Dにて稽古継続中。 2017〜2021年、京都舞踏館にてロングラン公演され、300回以上上演された由良部正美の作品「黄泉の花」にワキとして出演した。 ソロでは、アバンギルドで2度発表した。又安楽寺では不定期に、岡田路世さんの演奏とのコラブレーションを行う。 2025年の1月には、香港で行われた「Congress of Butoh soul」 に、由良部正美氏とのデュオ作品 “息のゆきさき” (Stars above mirrored in the well below, high noon.)で出演した。 私にとって舞踏は、カラダを通して、世界を、あなたを、私を捉え直す情熱そのものといえるかも知れません。

In 2013, she was inspired by the dancing of Butoh dancer Masami Yurabe and studied under him. After that, she practice continue at Space ALS-D. From 2017 to 2021, she appeared as Waki ​​in Masami Yurabe’s work “Yomi no Hana” (Underworld flower) which had a long run at Kyoto Butohkan and was performed over 300 times. As for her solo work, she has presented it twice at UrBANGUILD Kyoto. Also, at Anrakuji temple, she occasionally collaborate with Michiyo Okada’s performances. In January 2025, she was perform at the “Congress of Butoh soul” held in Hong Kong with Masami Yurabe’s duo work (Stars above mirrored in the well below, high noon.) with Masami Yurabe. did. For me, butoh can be said to be my passion for reconsidering the world, you, and myself through my body.

幼少時はクラッシックバレエ、のちJAZZ、コンテンポラリーと踊り続けて半世紀過ぎた今、この身体の【生命】の在り様と【生と死】、行き交うもの、絶え間なく脈々と混々と流れ続ける普遍性を舞踏の中からも見出そうとしている。近年、由良部氏の稽古に時に身をおき模索している。
’02年【自然と社会の営みの中での心の綾と余韻】を軸に自主公演を開始、’12~17年京都教育大ダンス必修化支援プロジェクト参画メンバーとしても活動 ‘18年奈良指定文化財大和高田教会、’22年東京両国シアターχ国際舞台芸術祭にて自作を踊る

I am interested in how the human body and movement can be a channel for ritual and
healing. I experience movement practice as a way to connect intimately with the
limitless – in the world, in our connection with others, and with the limitless within us.
As a young man, I pursued this goal by studying modern dance in New York City with
the Erick Hawkins dance company. After that, in the 1970’s and 1980’s I pursued Zen
practice and study in a monastic setting in California. After my time in the monastic life,
I continued to explore how we connect and heal. For 25 years until 2018, I was a
scientist at the University of California. I studied the natural flow of water and how rivers
form in nature.
Recently I returned to dance to continue to study and embody our lives as ones of
connection and healing. I currently practice performance art both in California and in
Kyoto where my family and I have restored an old folk house. My current movement art
has been inspired by working with many good butoh teachers and collaborators. In
Kyoto I study and practice with Yurabe Masami and his students. This is a study that
deeply encourages my ongoing practice.
