Tamangoh VanCayseele Stanislas is a master of improvisation, renowned as one of the most musical tap
artists worldwide. He blends the new sounds of hip hop culture with funk / world music, and the
traditional jazz idioms of bee bop and swing in a unique contemporary style.
Tamangoh is the founder and artistic director of the Urban Tap Company with whom he has performed
on numerous international tours.
In 1994, he directed, in collaboration with hip hop choreographer Rennie Harris, the show «Cool Heat,
Urban Beat» which toured the world for six consecutive years.
In 2000, he received the prestigious Bessie Award for best choreography for the show Caravane de la Cie
Urban Tap.
In 2002, Tamangoh was featured on TV Arte’s Metropolis and featured in Stomp’s Pulse, Imax.
In 2005, he was the youngest artist to receive the Masters of African American Dance Award at the
Kennedy Center in Washington.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Tamangoh officiated as master of ceremonies for the Big Band evenings of the
Jazz in Marciac festival.
Tamangoh has shared the stage with many legendary artists throughout the years.
Currently, he is the creator and director of three new commissioned dance pieces being performed in
French Guinea.

ミズモノ :今 貂子 [舞踏] + ryotaro [sound] + 仙石彬人 [TIME PAINTING] 白虎者出身の舞踏家 今 貂子とエレクトロニクスを融合したアコーディオン弾きのryotaro、そしてOHPを用いたヴィジュアルによるライヴパフォーマンス”TIME PAINTING”アーティスト、仙石彬人によって2012年結成。即興ではあるが根底に流れる、それぞれの頭の中にある物語や風景、記憶や想像を一つの作品として体現する。

舞踏家　振付家　今貂子舞踏研究所/舞踏カンパニー倚羅座主宰 ’80年-’94年白虎社に参加。海外及び国内公演に出演、また、衣裳デザイン製作を担当。‘00年ワークショップを母胎に舞踏カンパニー倚羅座結成。’07⁻’16年旧五條楽園歌舞練場にて連続公演。’16年KYOTO舞踏館「秘色」ロングラン上演開始（現在休演中）。‘19年還暦記念「闇の艶」公演（先斗町歌舞練場）。’20年「金剛石-Diamond-」公演（UrBANGUILD）にて、令和2年度文化庁芸術祭優秀賞受賞。以降’21年「愛ノ嵐」、’22年「彗星」を上演しコロナ三部作として結実。23年11月倚羅座舞踏公演「瑠璃坏るりのつき」、’24倚羅座舞踏公演「真珠と斧」開催。’21年より、映像作家飯名尚人との共同制作「おんなのぼくしさん」プロジェクト開始、2025年3月15日―17日「おんなのぼくしさん」アップデート公演予定（会場・今貂子舞踏研究所）。

日本の芸能の源流にみられる「たまふり（命の活性化）」の力に支えられたアバンギャルドな舞踏の探求を通じ、独自の境地を開拓。

Artistic director of Butoh Company KIRAZA and Director of Ima Tenko Butoh Studio

Ima Tenko was born in 1958 and studied Butoh from Isamu Osuga, who apprenticed with Tatsumi Hijikata, one of the founders of Butoh.
In 1980, she participated in the founding of the Butoh group Byakkosha, In the 1980s, she performed as a core member in one of the most acclaimed Butoh groups, Byakkosha, and received distinct recognitions in Japan and abroad.  She also designed and made costumes for Byakkosha.  After the dance company dissolved in 1994, she became an independent dancer.
In 2000, she established to her own dance studio for workshops and the Butoh company Kiraza.
In 2016, she began a long-run performance of her solo work “Hisoku” at the Kyoto Butoh Kan Theater, a specialized theater for Butoh, and welcomed audiences from 68 countries around the world until the theatre shut down in March 2020 due to Covid-19.
In 2019, she held -KANREKI anniversary-Ima Tenko Butoh Performance “YAMI NO TSUYA” at Pontocho Kaburenjo in Kyoto.
In 2020, with her Butoh Performance “Diamond” at UrBANGUILD Kyoto, she won the Award of Excellent at the 75^th edition of the National Arts Festival organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Government of Japan, and is the first Butoh dancer to win this award.
In 2021, Ima Tenko and naoto iina (filmmaker) collaborated and created the project “A female pastor”.
In 2022, she held Ima Tenko Butoh Performance “Comet” at UrBANGUILD Kyoto, and completed “Diamond”, “Love Tempest”, and  “Comet” as the Corona Trilogy.
In 2023, her company held Kiraza Butoh Performance “Goblet of Lapiz lazuli” at UrBANGUILD Kyoto.
In 2024, her company held Kiraza Butoh Performance “Pearl and Axe” at UrBANGUILD Kyoto.

March 15-17, 2025, “A female pastor”” update performance scheduled (venue: Ima Tenko Butoh studio).
In addition to performance, she has been nurturing and coaching the next generation of Butoh dancers, and produced many performers from her studio in Kyoto.

She explores and pushes the boundaries of her arts and herself in the avant-garde field of Butoh. Her arts are supported by the Shinto practice of Tamafuri, “reinvigorating the soul,” a practice seen at the heart of Japanese performing arts. As one of Japan’s leading butoh dancers, she uses Kyoto as a base to breathe new life and vigor into the field of Butoh.

エレクトロニクスを融合したアコーディオン弾き。96年からナスノミツル (アルタードステイツ)、三条とおる (EP-4)らの［elements］に加入後、数々のアングラの巨匠達との共演を経て2010年からUrBANGUILDのブッキングを務め、FOuR DANCERS, Velvet Moon等、数々のイヴェントを企画。今貂子、藤條虫丸、マルセロ・エヴェリン、由良部正美、ヤザキタケシ等、共演したダンサーは数知れず。梅津和時らと中山ラビのバックを15年勤め、フランスを中心に海外での活動も精力的に行い、’15年にはHi Seoul Festival 、’19年には釜山国際即興舞踊祝祭、Bridge Dance Festival (Chicago) に招聘される。’10, ’11年と、coba主催のイヴェントに参加。’20年音楽を担当した今貂子舞踏公演「金剛石-Diamond- 」（UrBANGUILD ）が文化庁芸術祭優秀賞受賞。2024年より一児の父。

2004年より「時間に絵を描く」をテーマに、リキッドライティングの技法を用いたライヴ・ヴィジュアル・パフォーマンス “TIME PAINTING”をはじめる。 楽器を演奏するかのように３台のOHPを同時に操りながら紡がれる光の絵は、絶えず変化し続け２度と同じにはならないその場限りの物語を描く。LIVEという表現方法にこだわり、あらゆるジャンルのミュージシャンやダンサー、アーティストとのコラボレートワークを活動の場としている。 2020年からは映像や写真など、パフォーマンス以外のメディアにおける光の表現を探求するプロジェクト「光響事業」もスタート。”AMBIENT KYOTO 2023″で展示された山本精一の「Silhouette」や、る鹿「体がしびれる 頭がよろこぶ」のMVなどを手がけている。

AKITO SENGOKU is a projection artist, liquid lighting artist based on Kyoto, Japan. Since 2004 he has performed live shows called “TIME PAINTING”, the theme of “Painting on Time and Space” by using three Overhead Projectors(OHP). He manipulates 3 OHPs as if playing musical instruments. His unique improvised works are provided by being inspired from music, dance, and space as collaboration work. Since he is interested in traditional culture recently, keeps collaborating with them. Since 2020, he has started a new production, “ACOUSTIC LIGHT PROJECT,” which is working with photographer and film director. The project produces music videos, live streaming, photographic works and other media. They are trying to find new expression of light in the video and photo.
