京都を拠点に活動する演劇グループ BRDG と、ハンガリー・ブダペストで活動する Sarolta がお届けする「ストーリーテリング・ナイト」

数々の賞を受賞しているマケドニアの作家ルメナ・ブジャロフスカの短編集『My Husband（私の夫）』からの抜粋を手がかりに、日本とハンガリーの俳優・アーティストたちがそれぞれの視点から、演劇やダンスのパフォーマンスを通して
「ケア」「見えない労働」「self-fulfillment（自己充足）」をめぐる問いに向き合います。現代のバルカン社会を生きる女性たちの言葉に触れながら、私たちの現在地に耳を澄ませる企画。

今回のテーマは「ケア」「見えない労働」「self-fulfillment（自己充足）」
家庭という場、パートナーシップという関係性において、
“妻”や“夫”、“パートナー”という役割の奥に潜む、無意識の期待とは何でしょうか？
知らぬ間に纏った「役割」をするりと手放して、それぞれが等しく「self-fulfillment（自己充足）」を感じる方法は、現代においてどのように見出せるでしょうか。 

上演後には出演者と観客による座談会を開催。
ハンガリーやマケドニアの現代社会について知り、日本との違いや共通点を語り合うことで、新たな視座を得られる出会いの場となることを楽しみにしています。

【ストーリーテリングとは？】
本イベントで用いる「ストーリーテリング」は、参加者とともに社会課題を考えるための革新的な表現手法です。 演劇やパフォーマンス、時にインスタレーションなどを通して個人の体験を語ることを出発点に、 それぞれの地域に存在する複雑な社会課題について、観客と共に考える対話の場をひらきます。

STORYTELLING NIGHT
Care, Invisible Work and Self-Fulfillment

A storytelling night hosted by BRDG, a Kyoto-based theater collective, and Sarolta, a performance initiative from Budapest.

Taking inspiration from excerpts of “My Husband,” a short story collection by the acclaimed Macedonian author Rumena Buzharovska, Japanese and Hungarian performers and artists explore themes of care, invisible labor, and self-fulfillment through theater, dance, and performance.

Listening to the voices of women living in contemporary Balkan societies, the project offers a moment to pause and reflect on where we ourselves stand.

This event centers on the questions:

• What unspoken expectations lie beneath the roles of “wife,” “husband,” or “partner”?
• How can we gently let go of the roles we unconsciously wear, and instead find ways to experience self-fulfillment equally?

Following the performance, we invite audience members to join a conversation with the artists. Through this post-show discussion, we hope to deepen our awareness of contemporary life in Hungary and North Macedonia, and to exchange perspectives with one another.

What is Storytelling?

In this context, storytelling is a collaborative and dialogic method of expression. Combining theater, performance, and sometimes installation, the event uses personal experiences as an entry point to reflect on complex social issues that resonate across cultures. It’s not just about telling stories—but creating space for shared reflection and dialogue.

Levko Esztella｜俳優、大学講師
ロンドンのローズ・ブルフォード演劇大学で学び、さらにモスクワ国立映画大学（VGIK）にて1年間研修。これまでに、ポーランドのGardzieniceセンター、イタリアのCompagnia Pippo Delbono、フランスのPhilippe Gentyカンパニー、スロヴェニアのVia Negativaなど、著名なヨーロッパの劇団と共演。また、ティミショアラのCsiky Gergely劇場（ハンガリー）のゲストアーティストとしても活動。海外での活動後は、ハンガリー国内のTrafó現代芸術センターやJurányi Házにて作品を上演。舞台のかたわら、TV2やHBOなどの国内外のドラマや、受賞歴のある短編映画にも多数出演。ロンドンのEast15演劇学校の招待講師。
これまでに日本、アメリカ、ポーランド、イタリア、スロヴァキアで俳優訓練のワークショップを開催。文化・社会活動の拠点「シャロルタ文化・公共サロン」の共同設立者。
Levko Esztella – Actor, University Lecturer
Studied at Rose Bruford College (London) and trained for a year at VGIK (Moscow). She has performed with major European ensembles including Gardzienice (Poland), Compagnia Pippo Delbono (Italy), Compagnie Philippe Genty (France), and Via Negativa (Slovenia). She was also a guest artist at Csiky Gergely Theatre in Timisoara, Hungary. Her recent works have been presented at Trafó House of Contemporary Arts and Jurányi Ház in Hungary. In addition to her stage work, she has appeared in numerous award-winning short films and TV dramas for HBO and TV2. She has taught acting workshops in Japan, the U.S., Poland, Italy, and Slovakia, and is a co-founder of the cultural hub “Sarolta Salon.”

Zsuzsanna Száger ｜俳優、カンパニー代表
ニューヨークのWilliam Esper StudioとHB Studioで演劇を学ぶ。
17年にわたって活動する多くの賞を受賞したKVカンパニー創設メンバーのひとり。
個人およびカンパニーの作品を通して、女性の生の問題や社会的タブーをテーマにしている。
国内外の舞台作品に出演するほか、受賞歴のある映画やHBOのシリーズにも多数出演。
2022年よりレヴコ・エステッラとの創作協働を開始。
最初の共同作品は舞台『My Husband 私の夫』と、それに関連するストーリーテリングイベント。 2024年12月にはJurányi Házにて、ドキュメンタリー・コンサート演劇という大規模な新作を初演。

Zsuzsanna Száger – Actor, Company Director
Trained at William Esper Studio and HB Studio (New York). A founding member of the award-winning KV Company, active for 17 years. Her artistic focus is on women’s experiences and breaking social taboos. She has appeared in stage productions across Hungary and internationally, as well as in acclaimed films and HBO series. Since 2022, she has collaborated with Levko Esztella. Their first joint project was the performance “My Husband” and its accompanying storytelling event. In December 2024, they premiered a large-scale documentary concert-theater work at Jurányi Ház.

ジダーノワ アリーナ　- 映像作家、キュレーター
モスクワ(ロシア) に生まれ、北海道で育つ。現在は京都を拠点に映像作家、キュレーターとして活動。2025 年京都市立芸術大学 博士（美術）取得。人の記憶や人格、その背景にある社会背景に興味があり、様々な国や街でリサーチを行っている。人が話す日常や記憶を使って、鑑賞者の記憶と対峙するような作品を作る。

Zhdanova Alina– Video Artist, Curator

Zhdanova Alina was born in Moscow, Russia, and raised in Hokkaido, Japan. Now a video artist and curator based in Kyoto, Japan. Ph.D. of Fine Art. She explores the intricate interplay between personal memories, individual personalities, and their surrounding social contexts. Her research spans various countries and cities, delving into the rich tapestry of human experience. Through her work, she engages viewers by evoking and confronting their own memories, drawing inspiration from everyday conversations and memories.

山口惠子　- 演劇をつくる人
The Rose Bruford Collgeでヨーロッパ演劇を学ぶ。帰国後、京都を拠点に俳優として活動し、松本雄吉、マレビトの会、したため、りっかりっか＊フェスタ（沖縄）の作品に出演。2011年に演劇グループBRDGを立ち上げ、日々出会う人たちへのインタビューやフィールドワークを用いて作品を創作。 2024年12月にフィリピンの劇団PETAとの共同制作『Sari-Sali portal cafe』をマニラで上演。2021年〜2023年　東京芸術祭 Asian Performing Arts Camp ファシリテーター。セゾン文化財団2023-2024年度セゾン・フェロー I。京都・東九条のコミュニティカフェほっこり副代表理事として働きながらラジオを放送したり、さまざまな地域の活動に演劇を通じて関わっている。2024年2月より、人を育て始める。
Keiko Yamaguchi – Theater Artist
Studied European theater at Rose Bruford College. After returning to Japan, she has worked primarily as a performer based in Kyoto, appearing in productions by Yuki Matsumoto, Marebito no Kai, Shitatame, and at ricca ricca*festa (Okinawa). In 2011 she founded the theater group BRDG, which creates works rooted in interviews and fieldwork. In December 2024 she co-created “Sari-Sali Portal Cafe” with PETA in Manila. She was a facilitator at the Tokyo Festival Asian Performing Arts Camp (2021–2023) and is a Saison Foundation Fellow (2023–2024). She is also active in community-based projects, serving as co-representative of the local cafe and radio hub Hokkori in Kyoto’s Higashi-Kujō district. Since February 2024, she has also been raising a child.
