Currently based in Kyoto\, KAeDE is an artist whose creative work centers on physical expression. She began street dance at the age of five\, gradually expanding her movement vocabulary across various dance genres\, building a deep foundation for embodying emotion and spirit through the body. Her current practice explores the invisible—drawing inspiration from Japanese spiritual traditions such as Noh\, Shinto\, Zen\, and the art of incense. Through these influences\, she creates performances that invite the viewer into altered states of perception and stillness. Alongside her choreographic work\, she is also a certified Reiki healer\, offering sessions aimed at rebalancing energy and nurturing both body and mind. Recently\, and in some recent past\, Thielemans has collaborated in trio together with the late Mika Vainio & Charlemagne Palestine (PVT released on Godbear April 2020)\, a trio together with Oren Ambarchi and Charlemagne Palestine (PAT released on Godbear July 2022) \, a duo together with Oren Ambarchi (Double Consciousness released in 2023 on Matière Mémoire\, and Kind Regards\, released in 2025 on AD93)\, a duo with Billy Hart (Talking about the Weather)\, Chantal Acda (The Sparkle in our Flaws\, Bounce Back\, Puwawau\, Saturday Moon)\, Marshall Allen (Sun Ra)\, Tape Cuts Tape\, Distance Light & Sky\, Jozef Dumoulin\, Trevor Dunn\, Shahzad Ismaily\, Vaast Colson\, Nico Dockx\, Laurie Anderson\, and many more. To explore such a vast problem Thielemans is convinced it requires multiple vantage points and knowledge registers from which to approach the question. More and more his personal research and output crosses the borders of music discipline to borrow practices and ways of thinking from mainly the performative arts\, architecture\, and the contemporary visual arts.  It also pushes him to dive ever more deeply into site specific work\, where the very specific yet eternal now is collectively (both the musicians/artists and public/participants) explored and experienced through our ears and spatial awareness\, bringing the experience of the music inside of the larger question of what it means to be an embodied spirit\, a human being\, in our everyday spaces and places.  Since 2004\, he collaboratively works with disabled members of Tanpopo-no-ye in Nara and conducts workshops and creates opportunity to show the work in Able Art Movement.
Since 2005\, he founded “I-Picnic” which improvises performance at outdoors. The improvised performance is being held at Indonesia\, Japan\, Austria and Hungary\, and also produced DVD.

She is quite interested in every possible form of expression through art. After passing a Performing Arts degree in cinema section\, she joined in 2007 the National Contemporary Dance Center of Angers where she attended the Choreographic Artist training. At the same time\, she went on practising as a musician by discovering joys of accordion through european traditional music network. She is performing for choreographers and directors in France (Alain Buffard\, l’Encyclopédie de la Parole\, Olivier Normand\, La Cavale\, Le Théâtre dans la forêt…) and is involved is various music project\, such as Rhizottome\, SEAPHONE\, Superphosphate and Ignatius. In 2009\, she left for Japan to invent the solo performance 背後霊– mixing expressionist body\, cinema references and music composition. Since then she keeps strong artistic and affective relationship with Japan. After have been awarded with Rhizottome as an artist-in-residence program in Japan (Villa Kujoyama 2015)\, they created the 庭師の夢 quartet with japanese artists. Since 2008\, she is internationally touring with Rhizottome in Europe\, Asia and Africa. In 2021 she creates the trio Superphosphate (with Matthieu Metzger and Alban Pacher) that blends acoustic instruments and electronic low tech into a dancing repertoire with geek videos. Since 2023\, she produces her own solo album Beliver\, and creates music videos in collaboration with various musician. She also keeps on being a stage performer for dance or theater companies. He plays violin in Ciac Boum\, a band known for its traditional music from the Poitou region (France). He also plays violin and synthesizer in Superphosphate. His extensive travels in Japan\, Bali\, and Mexico have influenced his approach to music. \n  \n\nBridget Scott\, born in London living in Kyoto since 1989. She began butoh dance training with Katsura Kan in 1990. She performed as a regular member of his group until 1994. She is quite interested in every possible form of expression through art. After passing a Performing Arts degree in cinema section\, she joined in 2007 the National Contemporary Dance Center of Angers where she attended the Choreographic Artist training. At the same time\, she went on practising as a musician by discovering joys of accordion through european traditional music network. She is performing for choreographers and directors in France (Alain Buffard\, l’Encyclopédie de la Parole\, Olivier Normand\, La Cavale\, Le Théâtre dans la forêt…) and is involved is various music project\, such as Rhizottome\, SEAPHONE\, Superphosphate and Ignatius. In 2009\, she left for Japan to invent the solo performance 背後霊– mixing expressionist body\, cinema references and music composition. Since then she keeps strong artistic and affective relationship with Japan. After have been awarded with Rhizottome as an artist-in-residence program in Japan (Villa Kujoyama 2015)\, they created the 庭師の夢 quartet with japanese artists. Since 2008\, she is internationally touring with Rhizottome in Europe\, Asia and Africa. He plays violin in Ciac Boum\, a band known for its traditional music from the Poitou region (France). He also plays violin and synthesizer in Superphosphate. He focuses his research on traditional music and improvisation\, touring Europe stages. His extensive travels in Japan\, Bali\, and Mexico have influenced his approach to music. \n\nBrian McCoy is a North American that lives in France. Initially a trained singer and drummer (Husbands & Wives\, The Handsome Devils)\, he fell in love with the hurdy-gurdy in 2008. After receiving his Degree in Theatre and Musical Technologie from the University of Kent State\, Brian decided to compose\, perform and produce his solo work. In 2016 he decided to migrate to Europe to meet real players and further develop his technique. Since then\, he has broadened his field of research around the instrument\, diving deeper into using effect pedals and discovering new techniques. She is quite interested in every possible form of expression through art. After passing a Performing Arts degree in cinema section\, she joined in 2007 the National Contemporary Dance Center of Angers where she attended the Choreographic Artist training. At the same time\, she went on practising as a musician by discovering joys of accordion through european traditional music network. She is performing for choreographers and directors in France (Alain Buffard\, l’Encyclopédie de la Parole\, Olivier Normand\, La Cavale\, Le Théâtre dans la forêt…) and is involved is various music project\, such as Rhizottome\, SEAPHONE\, Superphosphate and Ignatius. In 2009\, she left for Japan to invent the solo performance 背後霊– mixing expressionist body\, cinema references and music composition. Since then she keeps strong artistic and affective relationship with Japan. After have been awarded with Rhizottome as an artist-in-residence program in Japan (Villa Kujoyama 2015)\, they created the 庭師の夢 quartet with japanese artists. Since 2008\, she is internationally touring with Rhizottome in Europe\, Asia and Africa. In 2021 she creates the trio Superphosphate (with Matthieu Metzger and Alban Pacher) that blends acoustic instruments and electronic low tech into a dancing repertoire with geek videos. Since 2023\, she produces her own solo album Beliver\, and creates music videos in collaboration with various musician. She also keeps on being a stage performer for dance or theater companies. Initially a trained singer and drummer (Husbands & Wives\, The Handsome Devils)\, he fell in love with the hurdy-gurdy in 2008. After receiving his Degree in Theatre and Musical Technologie from the University of Kent State\, Brian decided to compose\, perform and produce his solo work. In 2016 he decided to migrate to Europe to meet real players and further develop his technique. Since then\, he has broadened his field of research around the instrument\, diving deeper into using effect pedals and discovering new techniques. ライブでは繊細で時にエネルギッシュ、甘く時にアグレッシブな音楽へと、瞬時に移行する。新しい物語を紡ぐように即興的に構成されていく演奏は、コンピューター主導のオルガンと止まる事のないトークボックスを連想させる。彼ら自身で構成された音楽は爽快で、挑戦的であり民族音楽の枠を越え、ヨーロッパの多くのフェスティバルに招聘されている。

Started learning Noh theatre in Kyoto at the age of 18\, and began a life on the stage in 1996. His Butoh piece\, The Decay of the Angel (2014) established him a high reputation for his distinctive use of Noh masks. In 2017 performed in Beijing for the symposium “Origin & Grow : Choreographic Dialogue among East Asian Dancers”. In 2025 performed in Hong Kong for the symposium “Butoh in Six Acts”. He incorporates the artistry and colours of Noh into his performances with respect to classical Japanese theatre art form. \n\nAlice Milluy\nフランス出身。ベルギーのダンスとムーブメント演劇の学校を卒業。2021年から日本で能楽のお仕舞いを学び、誠司田中スタジオで暗黒舞踏のトレーニングも始める。\n2022年以降はヨーロッパと日本でパフォーマンス活動を行っている。伝統芸能と現代パフォーマンスを融合させながら、自身の踊りを探求し続けている。 \n\n ©Raúl Bartolomé\nGerard Almeida\nGerard Almeida (Gerry) He is a Butoh Dancer and physical theather actor from Barcelona\,\nSpain currently based in Kyoto. He watched his first Butoh performance in 2017 but began\ndancing in 2019. He has trained with several masters in Spain\, Germany and Japan\, as well as\nperforming at several festivals\, such as Festival de Butoh Ibérico Alma Negra in Madrid (2023)\nand Butoh International Gathering in Pasewalk\, Germany (2024). Recently he performed with\nKatsura Kan on stage at his Kyoto Butoh Festival Pre-event at Urbanguild last April and he is\nexpected to train and perform with Dairakudakan soon (2025).\nHe finds inspiration for his performances in dreams and mythological and folklore-related\ntopics\, especially in yôkai and the Japanese ghosts and ghouls.
